Homeschool Speech and Debate Club in Austin, TX

Who are we?

We are a homeschool speech and debate club in Southwest Austin whose goal is facilitating building communication, logic and thinking skills in students so that they are equipped to be engaging, winsome abmassadors for Christ in a world that needs the message of the gospel.  Christ-like attitudes and a Christian worldview are at the center of everything we do.  Our forum is National Christian Forensics and Communication Association (NCFCA), which is a competitive homeschool speech and debate league, so these skills are in part developed through very competitive tournaments.  Despite the fact that this is a competitive activity, students learn to focus on Christian character, grace, and humility.

Who can participate?

Senior club members range from ages 12-18 (as of Sept. 1).  We also have a Juniors program for siblings of senior competitiors for children ages 7 - 12 (younger children may participate in Juniors depending on level of ability to sit and learn in the Junior club time).

Capitol Forensics Club is a student-led, parent facilitated club in which student leadership is valued and experienced students have opportunity to teach.  Our club is volunteer-run club, with each family contributing to help things run smoothly.  Because of this, strong parent participation is required.
